How Many Sets for Bigger Muscles

Q: What's the reason you don't train larger muscle groups (i.e.: back and legs) with more sets than smaller ones (i.e.: arms & shoulders)?

A: The volume/size of an individual muscle group does not constitute a reason to differentiate between the amount of sets (per muscle) that need to be done per workout. However, there's a great chance that you may run into over training smaller muscle groups or so called "Weak Link" muscles, such as biceps or triceps. These muscle groups are heavily involved in all movements like Pull downs, Bench press or Shoulder presses. You are more than likely over stimulating these muscles if you train with the same amount of volume as your larger muscle groups.

My advice, leave your biceps/triceps alone for a while then restart with only training them 1x every 2 weeks!
