You can call this the biggest and the most intense amateur competiton. It is the most sought after title in the amateur level. It's the preferred final stop at which an amateur bodybuilder can secure his professional status and launch his career.

What distinguishes this show from the other NPC pro qualifiers is that the winners from every weight class in the men's division, land IFBB pro cards. At the NPC USA Championships, two pro cards are awarded. Those are given based upon placing in the overall posedown. Hence, it usually ends up as a battle between the winners of the heaviest classes.
