Lightweight Class
  Rank   Name   State     Weight     Total
1 Jason Croce FL 152 5
2 Robert Morton CA 141 10
3 Jeff Macaluso NY 149 15
4 Doug Stanley PA 154 19
5 Chad Grisham   OH 154 26
6 Kevin Chmura CA 154 28
7 Justin Kaplan CA 154 35

Jason Croce came in strong and well-timed for his peak condition. He was tight, striated, and well-proportioned. He might look even better if he moves up a weight class since his balance was good. I'd like to see him a little fuller. He received straight first place votes from the judges for his class. Jason is 19 years old. He works as a GNC sales assistant. He considers his glutes to be his best part, and is uncertain of his next competition.

Jeff Macaluso had a deceiving physique in that when he walked on stage he looked as though he would be a tightly-muscled physique. However, when he struck poses. he showed excellent size to his muscle bellies and peaks. I think Jeff should let it go and try for a bigger look with more mass, and go up a weight lass. Jeff is 17 years old and from NY. He came in at 149 lbs, at 5' 9".

Kevin Chmura appeared at a good height and balance for a bodybuilder. However, he mostly needs to move up a weight class and harden. He is 19 years old, 154 lbs, 5' 10" and from CA. He should continue at it. It looks like it will fall in place well.

Middleweight Class
  Rank   Name   State     Weight     Total
1 Vitaly Buloshncov   IL 172 5
2 William Allison PA 163 10
3 Kane Atkinson IL 172 15
4 Gregory Jones NY 174 21
5 Vaughn Laub PA 172 24
6 Kent Tarberton DE 173 32
7 Matt Lowe CO 174 33
8 Chas Blystone TN 164 40
9 John Wingate DE 176 45

Victor Buloshnikov timed his condition well and showed up in peak condition. He was full, yet striated. He could help with his posing. He considers his best parts to be his glutes, back, and hamstrings. Victor started weight-training in high school when he was a wrestler. He is 19 years old and is going to school to become an Emergency Medical Technician. He plans on next competing at the Illinois State Championships.

Vaughn Laub came in with a good symmetrical physique. He was tight with no excess fat, yet he was not depleted. Vaughn will look good if he moves up a weight class. Vaugh is from PA and weighed in at 172 lbs.

Light-Heavyweight Class
  Rank   Name   State     Weight     Total
1 Mark McEachern   MS 189 5
2 Shawn D'Aurelio TX 195 10
3 Andy McLaughlin   MT 195 17
4 Moslem Elbasouni NJ 193 21
5 Ian Schofield FL 189 21
6 Josh Dress VA 195 30
7 Dan Spratt GA 195 35
8 John Kijek OH 188 41
9 Michael Grossi NJ 195 45

Mark McEachern was one of the impressive stand-outs of the night. He was thick in the right places, while he managed to come in tight also. His muscles were noticeably full. The thick wide deltoids emphasized the taper to the waist. He had excellent balance as his thick delts went well with his pecs and his full quads. The contrast between his muscle fullness and his tightness and taper is what made him riveting. Unusual for a teen, Mark had thick heads to the muscles in his back, which separated well. Mark received straight first place votes from the judges. Mark is 19 years old and came in at 189 pounds. He works out at Mike Horn's Worlds Gym in Alabama, although he is from Mississippi. Mark came in first place in the teen division in the 2001 Mississippi and the 2002 Southern States. He is planning on competing in the 2003 Mississippi State Championships.

It was not easy to best Shawn D'Aurelio. He came in a strong second place. He was 195 pounds, all of which was well shaped, full, and hard. He will be an impressive force as he continues to put on mass, since everything is falling in good balance, well shaped, and hard. He also appears comfortable onstage, which is representative of confidence that comes from good feedback. Shawn is a 19 year old personal trainer from Texas. He has already taken second place in the Teen Division at the Ron Coleman and the Southwest Classic.

Andy McLaughlin had a good overall pleasing physique. Although he came in well balanced, I'd like to see him a little tighter. Andy is 18 years old, 195 pounds, and comes from Montana.

Although Ian Schofield is pretty tall for the teen level, he managed it well. He came in with a good degree of fullness in important areas, such as the pecs and quads. He also managed to bring onstage good striations. He has already taken first place in the Southern States light-heavyweight class and overall in the teen division. Ian is a 19 year old student and personal trainer from Florida. He credits much of his success to his trainer, Neil Butler.

Heavyweight Class
  Rank   Name   State     Weight     Total
1 Jason Nick Lycius OH 208 5
2 Caymen Gentry TX 208 12
3 Jason Lucchesi IL 216 13

Nick Lycius was hard to beat in this class. He came in hard, tight, and well balanced. His tan was dark and heavy (probably from the use of DreamTan) which kept any of his peaks from visibly jumping out. He is awkward on stage, but not more than you would expect from someone with the limited experience a teen has. I'd like to see Nick continue to move up a weight class, alter his tan, and practice his posing more. The physique itself was impressive! Nick came in at 208 pounds from Ohio.

Jason Lucchesi showed some good development in the upper areas, particularly in the delts and pecs. He was particularly comfortable on stage. I'd like to see Jason tighter in the abs, low back, and glutes areas. Considering his height, how comfortable he is onstage, and striated hard pec development, I'd like to see Jason keep at the sport. He needs to increase his mass, due to his height, and he needs to tighten up. Jason is a 19 year old business student from Illinois. He has already placed second in the 2002 Illinois State.
