Dear NPC Athlete,

 

Below you will find a list of Frequently Asked Questions for the 2003 NPC IRONTEK TEEN, COLLEGIATE, & MASTERS NATIONAL BODYBUILDING AND FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS.

 

CONTEST DATE

July 18-19, 2003

 

HOST HOTEL AND CONTEST VENUE

All events take place within the confines of the SHERATON HOTEL - STATION SQUARE, PITTSBURGH PA.  Call 412-261-2000 for reservations at the host hotel.  Mention “NPC Bodybuilding Contest” for the special contest rate.  The deadline for this rate is Friday, June 20, 2003.  Rooms will not be available after this date.  Please reserve your rooms early to get a room in the host hotel!

 

YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE NPC

All bodybuilding competitors must be registered as athletes with the computer service of the NPC National Physique Committee as of June 20, 2003.  For an application, contact the NPC at PO Box 3711, Pittsburgh PA 15230, 412-276-5027.

         

          Fitness and Figure competitors can register as NPC members at the contest check-in.

 

          HOW TO QUALIFY

Bodybuilding: In order to qualify for this event, competitors need only to have competed in a previous NPC contest, no matter when, what the placing was, or what the category was.

 

You must be a US citizen to enter this event.  Proof must be sent with your entry (copy of birth certificate, voter registration, or military discharge).

 

You must not be currently under suspension by the NPC.

 

Women’s Figure - Figure competitors are not required to pre-qualify for this event.

 

Teen Fitness competitors are not required to pre-qualify for this event.

 

PROOF OF AGE AND STUDENT STATUS

Teens and Masters competitors must submit proof of age with entry.  Proof of age is best accomplished by birth certificate or voter registration.

 

Collegiate competitors (there are no age limitations) must submit documentation from a university or college attesting to their part-time or full-time student status.

 

ENTRY DEADLINE

All applications must be postmarked no later than June 28, 2003.

 
ENTRY FEE
$80.00 for each competitor.  Add $40.00 for crossovers.

BODYBUILDING SUITS

No T Back, metallic, or vinyl suits are permitted.  If you have any doubt about the style please bring a second suit.

 

COMPETITION DIVISIONS

Men’s Bodybuilding

Teen, Collegiate and Over 40           6 Weight Classes and 1 Overall

Over 50                                       3 Weight Classes and 1 Overall

Over 60                                       1 Weight Class                               

Over 70                                       1 Weight Class

 

Women’s Bodybuilding

Teen, Collegiate and Over 35           3 Weight Classes and 1 Overall

Over 50                                       1 Weight Class

 

Women’s Figure

Collegiate and Over 35                    2 Height Classes and 1 Overall

 

Teen Women’s Fitness

13 – 16 years old                           1 Height Class

17 – 19 years old                           1 Height Class

 

FIGURE COMPETITION

There will be Women’s Figure competition in the divisions of Collegiate Women and Masters Women Over 35.

 

One-piece suits may not have a cut-out in the midsection area.

 

No thong back suits are permitted.

 

TEEN FITNESS COMPETITION

There will be Teen Women’s Fitness competition in the classes of 13-16 years of age and 17-19 years of age.

 

There are 2 rounds of competition:

1-piece swimsuit (in bare feet with no high heels)

2-minute fitness routine

 
MUSIC
All contestants must supply their own music.

 

Vulgar music will not be permitted.

 

Posing music may be on a cassette tape or a CD and must be no longer than 90 seconds.

 

Posing music must be at the beginning of the tape or CD and must be the only music on the tape or CD.

 

Cassettes and CDs will be collected at the mandatory athletes’ meetings prior to Prejudging, but will be used only at the Finals.

 

POSING and AWARDS
All competitors will be introduced at the Finals.  The top five competitors in each weight class will pose.  The top five in each weight class will be awarded trophies plus an overall award in the divisions where there are multiple weight or height classes.

 

MASTERS OVER 40 – IFBB PRO QUALIFIER

The NPC MASTERS MEN OVER 40 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS is an IFBB pro-qualifier.  The Overall winner of the Masters Men Over 40 is eligible to turn professional and compete in the IFBB Professional Masters Division.

 

TEEN MEN’S WINNER TO LOS ANGELES

Flex Magazine flies the overall winner of the Teen Men’s Division to Los Angeles for a photo shoot and a feature article.
