Bikini Competition Shaving

Shaving for Bikini Competition

If you're someone who is thinking of competing in a bikini show then you're obviously considering a tan or a tanning lotion as well. However, before you consider all the many different tanning options available you first need to consider shaving for the competition.

Every woman has a different genetic hairiness, whether that be just hair on the arms and lower leg or rampant pubic hair and other places, you need to shave in preparation for any bikini show. There are many different options available to you for removing body-hair.

Shaving:

Shaving is something that should not be done the day before the competition because you need to get used to shaving. Your body can react to a close shave quite unpredictably if you're using a product that you've never used before. Problems like razor burn and small cuts and nicks happen easily, the sooner you start to shave the better your preparation will be. There are a few options that you can use as the advantage of shaving with a razor and some decent shaving foam will be a lot cheaper than any other shaving alternative that you come up with. You should shave about 10 days or 2 weeks before your competition to iron out any problems that you may need to deal with.

Waxing:

Waxing may hurt you more than shaving will but it gets good results for women who do not have a lot of body-hair. The advantage of waxing is that it can be done 2 to 8 weeks before the competition because the hair follicle gets pulled out and it will not be seen for a few weeks on any woman.

The problem is that if you don't do the waxing yourself you'll need to make an appointment with an esthetician or a licensed cosmetologist which costs money. The same as shaving, you should wax at least a few weeks before you decide to compete in case there are any side effects like the tearing of your skin or small red bumps from the wax.

Hair Removal Creams:

Using chemical product like Nair or other equivalents will dissolve the hair underneath the skin. These chemical hair removal creams should always be applied at least 10 days before you compete as sometimes it can cause a serious reaction with unsightly bumps and red spots.
